Obviously if you want an authentic sounding drum set or if you want to play with other musicians, an acoustic is the best. However, an electronic drum set is quiet, portable and you can change the sounds for each pad (tom, snare ect.). I personally prefer to play the accoustic drum set because the sound it gives me is the best and I like to jam with buddies. Well it all depends on what you want.
